• All India Inter-University Cricket Tournament for Women : This tournament was hosted by MAHE and AIU from February 26th to March 6th, 2024.

• All India Inter Zone Inter University Tennis Tournament (Women) : Scheduled for December 13-16, 2024, at Marena, this tournament will feature top female tennis players from universities across India.

The All India Inter Zone Inter University Tennis Tournament (Women) for 2024-25 was hosted by Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) in Manipal, Karnataka, from December 13 to December 16. The tournament brought together top female tennis players from universities across India to compete at Marena, the sports complex at MAHE

The tennis courts of Manipal Academy of Higher Education, MIT, KMC, and Marena, hosted two prestigious women’s tennis events this December: The South Zone Inter-University Tennis Tournament for Women from 7th to 10th December 2024, and the All India Inter-Zone Inter-University Tennis Tournament for Women from 13th to 16th December 2024.

All India Inter Zone Inter University Tennis Tournament (W)

The Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) hosted the All India Inter Zone Inter University Tennis Tournament (Women) 2024-25. The tournament was held from 13 – 16 December 2024 at Marena, sports complex Manipal.

This national-level event will bring together top female tennis players from universities across India, showcasing their talent and sportsmanship in an exciting competition.

The Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), a premier institution recognised for academic and sports excellence, inaugurated the All India Inter Zone Inter University Tennis Tournament (Women) 2024-25 today at Marena MAHE, Manipal. The tournament, which will run from December 13 to December 16, 2024, brings together elite players from universities across the country to compete at the highest level.

This prestigious sporting event is a celebration of talent, sportsmanship, and determination, and it reaffirms MAHE’s commitment to fostering excellence in both academics and sports.

Speaking at the event, Lt. Gen. (Dr.) M.D. Venkatesh, Vice Chancellor of MAHE, said, “MAHE has always been a frontrunner in promoting sports along with academics.

Hosting this tournament reflects our commitment to providing platforms for young athletes to excel and make their mark. I believe events like these not only foster healthy competition but also encourage collaboration and teamwork, which are essential life skills.”

The Chief Guest, Dr. Nayanika Reddy, a former international tennis player, expressed her enthusiasm for the event. “As someone who has had the privilege of representing India in tennis, it is heartwarming to see such high-calibre tournaments being organised for the next generation of players. Tennis teaches discipline, perseverance, and resilience, and I am sure this tournament will inspire many young women to pursue sports with passion and dedication.”

Dr. H.S. Ballal, Pro Chancellor of MAHE, who presided over the event, emphasised the university's commitment to excellence in sports. “At MAHE, we believe that sports are integral to a student’s overall development. The tournament is organised under the expert coordination of Dr. Upendra Nayak, Chief Coordinator of the Sports Council at MAHE, Mr. Gaurang Nalwaya, the Chief Referee, and Dr. Vinod C. Nayak, Secretary, Sports Council, MAHE. The event also underscores MAHE's alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, specifically focusing on Good Health and Well-being, Gender Equality, and Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions.

• MAHE Cross Country Race : This event is scheduled for August 29, 2024.

MAHE, Manipal, celebrated National Sports Day on August 29, 2024, in honour of Major Dhyan Chand, fondly remembered as "The Wizard of Hockey," on his birth anniversary. To mark this occasion, MAHE will organise the MAHE Cross Country Race for both men and women, this event highlights the institution's commitment to fostering a spirit of sportsmanship and physical fitness within the MAHE community

• MIC Annual Sports Meet : The MIC Annual Sports Meet is also scheduled for 2024.

• MSON Annual Sports Meet : The MSON Annual Sports Meet is scheduled for the 2024-25 academic year.
