University as a body have accessible childcare facilities for staff and faculty
At Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), we proudly offer childcare for the children of our staff and faculty through our Daycare Centre, which has been in operation for over 35 years. We understand the importance of providing a safe and nurturing environment for children while their parents work, and we are committed to ensuring this.
To meet the specific needs of our staff nurses, we have a dedicated daycare facility within our pediatric department, allowing parents to leave their children nearby while they work. Our daycare offers a variety of age-appropriate activities that foster learning and growth in a nurturing environment.
For younger children (ages 2-3), we focus on teaching basics like colors, alphabets, and numbers. Older children (ages 4-5) engage in activities such as origami and storytelling. Our daycare operates from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., providing parents with peace of mind while they fulfill their professional and academic duties.
The facility is managed by a committee led by Dr. Kannan, a faculty member at MIT, Manipal, as part of the MIT-MSAP Faculty Club. It features age-appropriate, theme-based rooms, child-friendly furniture, live CCTV footage accessible to parents, audio-visual aids, an interactive smart board for early learning, and a toddler outdoor park. We also offer speech, hearing, and cognitive development support, with help from a team of experienced staff and in collaboration with the Manipal College of Health Professionals (MCHP).
The Daycare Centre is an essential part of our community, offering a safe, engaging environment where children can learn and grow. The facility is available at our main University Campus and other campuses, including MTMC Jamshedpur and MAHE Bengaluru. The Manipal facility is managed by professionals from Sunshine Preschool and Daycare, offering activity rooms, leisure facilities, and pick-up/drop-off services to support working parents.

University as a body have accessible childcare facilities - Breastfeeding Booth
Mothers who use the daycare centres of MAHE can rest assured that there are dedicated facilities available for breastfeeding. These facilities are designed to provide privacy and comfort for mothers to breastfeed their babies in a calm and relaxed environment. The daycare centres have trained staff who can assist mothers with any questions or concerns they may have about breastfeeding. This ensures that mothers can continue to breastfeed their babies even when they are away from home, while also receiving the support they need.
