MAHE Admission Tracking Method of women's applications
The Director of Admission has a policy and procedure for tracking admissions using SLCM (Student Life Cycle Management Software), which gives us an edge over the number of applications and helps us keep track of the ratio.
To track women’s applications, MAHE has the following method:
-
SLCM collects every student’s data (Student Lifecycle Management).
-
Real-time data will be analysed and monitored using the software above.
-
In an effort to enhance educational opportunities for women, we have developed strategies such as providing financial support, scholarships, and mentorship focusing on women students.
-
Before the next academic year, strategies are developed based on 360-degree feedback from students, staff, faculty, and parents as part of the curriculum convention.

Supporting Equity Across the Student Lifecycle
Public Evidence:
MAHE Application Tracking for Gender Equality
-
MAHE implements key measures to achieve gender inclusivity in the following ways:
Periodic Evaluation and Gap Analysis: MAHE conducts regular evaluations of data concerning women's access and participation in academic programs. This analysis helps identify potential gaps or barriers in the application and participation process for women. Addressing these issues is a priority for the institution to promote gender equity and inclusivity.
Overall Needs Assessments and Vulnerability Mapping: Every year, MAHE carries out a campus-wide needs assessment to identify vulnerabilities that may affect the ability of both genders to reach their highest potential, both personally and academically. This assessment helps create targeted support systems to uplift all students, regardless of gender.
School and Department-Level Monitoring: Each school and department within MAHE takes on specific responsibility for monitoring admission and retention outcomes. This level of granularity ensures that gender disparities can be identified and addressed effectively, fostering a more inclusive learning environment.
Gender Representation in Classroom and Extracurricular Activities: MAHE is dedicated to maintaining gender representation in classrooms and extracurricular activities. This extends to leadership roles, volunteer roles, and selection processes, ensuring that both men and women have equal opportunities to excel in various domains.
To monitor all the above activities, MAHE has established a center named “The Centre for Women’s Studies” under Manipal Centre for Humanities, a constituent unit of MAHE. The goal is to foster different gender issues through academic engagement and policy discourse. The main aim of this Centre is to focus on key areas of enforcement of women’s rights such as Women, Labor and the Economy, Sexuality, Caste and Gender, Politics of Reproduction, The Domestic Sphere, and Violence and Discrimination. The main objectives of this Centre are:
- To focus on equality and ethical issues related to gender and sexuality
- To document, study, and advocate for women’s issues in different spheres such as education, health, legal system, and policy
- To sensitize, educate, and encourage different target groups and stakeholders to address the complex changing demands related to gender in a developing country such as India
- To build the Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) reputation as a gender-sensitive organization and collaborate among different institutions within MAHE

MAHE Graduation Data: tracking of women's likelihood of graduating by Registrar Evaluation Office MAHE through the Student Life Cycle Management System (SLCM) software.
The Office of the Registrar of Evaluation will track and analyse the results for any discrepancies. If there is a decrease in the number of female students graduating, immediate action will be taken in a management review meeting. During this meeting, a strategy will be prepared to improve the results of female graduating students.
The interventions and measures implemented by MAHE have shown promising results, indicating a positive trend in women's graduation rates relative to men's. This demonstrates the effectiveness of the initiatives taken to support and empower female students in their educational pursuits.
