Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) exemplifies this commitment through a range of free and inclusive educational initiatives that promote community learning and cultural awareness. The Centre for Intercultural Studies and Dialogue (CISD) launched the free online certificate course “Living Cultures of Tulunadu” in 2022 (CISD Official Page). Open to the general public, this self-paced course includes documentaries, lectures, and readings, and has already reached over 380 participants, each earning a certificate of completion. Through such initiatives, MAHE advances sustainable development in education by removing cost barriers and promoting digital inclusivity. MAHE’s commitment extends to free access to campus facilities and equipment, ensuring that young learners experience science and research first-hand. During National Science Day 2024, the university hosted hundreds of students for a week-long open science exhibition and workshops at the Manipal School of Life Sciences (MSLS), KMC, and MIT, offering hands-on laboratory access to promote STEM engagement (News coverage).
