Collaboration with CAST Alimenti - La scuola dei mestieri del gusto team from Italy
Welcomgroup Graduate School of Hotel Administration, Manipal (WGSHA) collaborated with the CAST Alimenti - La scuola dei mestieri del gusto team from Italy on the 9th and the 10th of September for a two-day Masterclass on Authentic Italian Cuisine. On 9th September, Chef Mario conducted a masterclass focused on the rich culinary history of Italy. He took us on a gastronomic journey through Italy's diverse regions, explaining how each area's unique produce influences its traditional dishes. Chef Anderson, a talented pastry chef, led the second masterclass. This masterclass focused on both modern and classical pastry techniques. Chef Anderson began by demonstrating classic techniques, such as choux pastry and puff pastry. He explained the science behind these techniques, emphasizing the importance of precision and attention to detail in pastry making. The students were then allowed to try these techniques, with Chef Anderson providing guidance and tips to help them perfect their creations.
