International collaboration data gathering for SDG
Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) contributes to the global SDG data ecosystem through active engagement in cross-border research, health data modelling, and evidence-based conferences. At the Global Sustainable Development Congress (GSDC 2024), co-hosted by Thailand’s Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, MAHE participated under the theme “Sustainable Healthcare Solutions”, sharing frameworks for collaborative data modelling, health indicators, and policy analytics (Global Sustainable Development Congress - THE). This engagement advanced the development of measurable, data-backed systems for sustainable healthcare aligned with SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). Similarly, the International Conference on Inclusion and Integration of Persons with Disabilities across the Lifespan (February 2024), organized by the Manipal College of Health Professions (MCHP), brought experts from India, Canada, and the UK together to exchange datasets and policy frameworks for inclusive education and rehabilitation (Amar Seva Sangam Conference Link).
In the health and pharmaceutical sectors, MAHE has developed robust global data partnerships. The E-Symposium on International Collaborations in Pharmacy - Present and Beyond (August 2023) connected international researchers to establish collaborative drug-safety monitoring frameworks (MCOPS Symposium Overview). This initiative was strengthened by MAHE’s MoU with Novo Nordisk Global Business Services (GBS), enabling data-sharing in clinical analytics and digital health innovation to inform evidence-based policymaking (Novo Nordisk-MAHE Partnership - BusinessLine). In nursing and healthcare, MAHE’s Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) programs in Kuwait and South Africa (2024) gathered pre- and post-training data on professional competencies, forming a cross-continental benchmark in maternal and cardiovascular care. Parallel collaborations with Edge Hill University (UK) generated datasets on dementia, autism, and substance abuse through the Student Collaboration Series, promoting comparative education and healthcare analytics (MCON Collaboration News).
MAHE’s active role in international research symposia, healthcare analytics, and multi-country faculty exchanges demonstrates its commitment to open, data-driven collaboration for the SDGs. Initiatives such as the 7th International Conference on Green Economy and Sustainable Growth (2024) and the IEEE ARIIA Conference (2024) have further contributed to Scopus-indexed outputs and shared global data repositories in sustainability and technology. Through these partnerships, MAHE supports South-South and North-South cooperation, reinforcing the principles of transparency, inclusivity, and scientific exchange. By integrating evidence-based monitoring into academic and policy frameworks, MAHE operationalizes SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) and strengthens global progress tracking toward sustainable development.
